Sounds Like Up North

John Piatek is a professional guitar player and songwriter based in Traverse City, MI. John and his wife Madeline play together as 'The Fridays' the English translation of their Polish last name. John has been playing the guitar since he was 7 years old, and received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar from Aquinas College. Madeline is a lifelong singer, classically trained from a young age. As a former special education teacher Madeline has a love for children's music and music education. Together the two of them write songs about the beauty of northern Michigan, lived experience and their love for each other and their growing family. Their music is rich in harmony, intricate guitar work and live looping.
